In analog circuits used in audio equipment, such as D/A converters, I/V conversion amplifiers, low-pass filters, line amplifiers, and headphone amplifiers, not only the signal path but also power supply quality is a critical factor that influences sound quality. High-end audio equipment requires low-noise and stable power delivery to maximize the performance of analog devices such as operational amplifiers.

MUSES is Nisshinbo Micro Devices’ premium audio device brand for high-end audio equipment. While the brand has primarily offered analog ICs including operational amplifiers, the newly released MUSES130 extends the sound-quality technologies cultivated through the MUSES series to power-management ICs. This 20 V-rated positive LDO is intended for use as a companion power supply for existing MUSES operational amplifiers. Its low-noise performance and high ripple rejection support stable power delivery to audio circuits and contribute to further improvements in overall audio quality.

Key Features include

  • bipolar process technology
  • input voltage range: 2.3 V to 19.0 V; output voltage range: 1.8 V to 17.0 V
  • output current: 200 mA, and
  • output noise voltage: typical 9 µVrms (10 Hz to 80 kHz).

The device is housed in the compact, high thermal-performance DFN3030-8-GQ package. In addition to supporting miniaturization of audio equipment and enhanced design flexibility, excellent thermal dissipation helps maintain stable operation at high output levels and supports reliable system designs.

We are also developing a negative-voltage version that can be paired with the MUSES130 to create positive/negative supply configurations. Mass production is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. To strengthen our offering for the high-end audio circuit market, we are expanding the existing MUSES op amp lineup with positive and negative power supply products.
