Implementation of Veggie Check Measurement Session for FY2024
As part of our initiatives to promote health and productivity management (realizing a “Healthy Company”), Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc. continued to implement the “Veggie Check Measurement Program” this year, following last year’s efforts. This program aims to visualize estimated vegetable intake, encouraging employees to reflect on their daily eating habits and fostering greater awareness and behavioral changes toward increased vegetable consumption.
The measurement uses a dedicated device called the “Veggie Check Meter,” which estimates vegetable intake in about 30 seconds by simply placing the palm on a sensor. The program was conducted at each site on a voluntary basis, attracting participation from over 2,000 employees. Compared to the 2023 results, overall vegetable intake levels improved, and positive changes were observed, such as employees consciously increasing vegetable consumption and paying more attention to how they eat.
Participants shared positive feedback, including:
“It was great to see my vegetable intake level as a number.”
“Competing by department made it fun and improved communication.”
“I hope this will be held regularly.”

Implementation of Physical Fitness Assessments for Senior Employees
At the Kawagoe Plant of Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc., a physical fitness assessment was conducted in July 2024 for employees aged 55 and older to encourage exercise habits and prevent falls. The assessment included two tests: one-leg standing with eyes closed and the seated stepping test, with a total of 270 participants.
Based on the difference between questionnaire responses and actual test results, fall risk was classified into four levels. If the measured result was lower than the self-assessment, the employee was rated as “High Fall Risk: D.” A D rating indicates that the body may not respond as well as the individual perceives. The results showed that 2% of employees were classified as high risk in the one-leg standing test, and 21% in the seated stepping test.
In 2025, similar initiatives were implemented at the Head Office, Ikeda Office, and Yashiro Plant. Going forward, physical fitness assessments will be conducted annually or biennially to monitor changes over time. We will continue efforts to emphasize the importance of maintaining and improving physical fitness, provide opportunities for exercise, and prevent fall-related accidents.

Initiatives Addressing Women’s Unique Health Issues — Implementation of Video Training, Bone Health Measurement, and Breast Cancer Self-Check Support
Based on the “Healthy Company Declaration” and the “Health Management Strategy Map,” Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc. conducted a training program titled “Health Issues Unique to Women – Promoting Bone Health” for managers and female employees, using our learning management system in conjunction with International Women’s Day (March 8) and Women’s Health Week (March 1–8).
The training included video content designed to deepen understanding of the significance of addressing women’s health issues and specific health-related challenges unique to women. The program achieved a 100% participation rate. In addition, as a complementary initiative, we implemented bone health assessments to help employees check their own bone condition—an aspect of health that is often overlooked—encouraging greater health awareness and behavioral change.
Furthermore, during regular health checkups, public health nurses continue to provide support for breast self-examination using breast cancer models for female employees. Starting in fiscal year 2025, the scope of the training on women-specific health issues will be expanded to include all employees, aiming to foster a workplace culture where mutual understanding and support for health challenges transcend gender.
Going forward, we will continue our efforts to address women’s health issues as part of our commitment to improving individual well-being and promoting health and productivity management across the company.

Wellness Photo Contest
As part of the initiatives outlined in the Health Management Strategy Map, Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc. held a photo contest in 2024 inviting employees to submit photos that capture health from their own perspective under the themes of “Food,” “Exercise,” and “Mind.” The purpose of this contest was to help employees feel more connected to health—not only through daily eating and exercise habits but also through relaxation and peace of mind—while promoting health awareness and improving workplace communication.
From a total of 62 entries, award-winning photos were selected through employee voting and recognized in November. The winning photos were displayed at each site and published on the company intranet for internal sharing. Going forward, these award-winning photos will be utilized in future health-related events as part of our ongoing efforts to promote employee health.
