Ricoh Electronic Devices Co., Ltd.

Ricoh Electronic Devices Co., Ltd. has launched the RN5U700 series, the USB power delivery controller ICs compliant with the USB Type-C Specification Revision 1.2 and USB Power Delivery Specification Revision 3.0v1.0a.

The RN5U700 series integrate a VBUS switch control with overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, over-temperature detection, oscillator, and high-voltage LDO. These functions allow to build a USB power delivery system with only few external parts.

The RN5U700 series have a logic for performing the power negotiation of USB power delivery. This circuit enables a microcomputer-less standalone operation to receive and supply power with low power consumption while conforming to the USB power delivery standard. The RN5U700 series are capable of extending operations such as an alternate mode by connecting with an embedded controller.
