Starts Sample Sales of the NT1819,
an Absorptive High Isolation SPDT Switch for 5G Base Stations
Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc. started sample sales of the NT1819, an SPDT switch that achieves industry-leading*1 high isolation and is ideal for 5G base stations, on September 26, 2024.
To realize smart society, 5G services have been launched. This enables high-speed, low-latency, and high-capacity data communications, and is starting to make a big difference in our lives and industries.
5G base stations have many antennas, each of which transmits strong radio waves. To prevent the radio waves from interfering with each other, a very high isolation switch with a 50-ohm termination to an off terminal is required for a circuit to compensate for distortion in the transmit amplifier.
The NT1819 achieves high isolation of 60 dB or more in the sub-6 band used in 5G by utilizing our RF device technology cultivated over many years. It is capable of reducing interference between adjacent devices. In addition, the built-in 50-ohm termination prevents impedance mismatch. The features and functions enhance the stability of 5G communication networks and can be used in a wide range of applications.

Features
1. High Isolation
The high isolation of 60 dB or more makes it ideal for applications where signals are selected for DPD*2 at 5G base stations.
In RFICs for 5G base stations, the number of terminals for DPD is limited, so it is necessary to use switches to select signals. High isolation is achieved not only between PC and P1/P2, but also between P1 and P2 to prevent further distortion due to the influence of adjacent blocks.
*2 Digital Pre-Distortion, distortion compensation
2. Absorptive Switch, Terminated with a Built-In 50-Ohm Load
This 50-ohm absorptive switch allows the impedance to be kept at 50 ohms in both the on and off states of the switch, contributing to stable circuit operation.
3. Supports up to 7.125 GHz
In addition to the main 5G frequency bands of 3.3–5.0 GHz (n77, n78, n79), the addition of 6.425–7.125 GHz (n104) is being considered. The 5.9–7.125 GHz band is also used for WiFi and unlicensed communications in the United States.
This product supports up to 7.125 GHz, allowing it to be used with high-bandwidth communication methods such as the n104 band.
