Tell me the order to connect the terminals of a protection circuit using a multi-cell Li-ion battery protection IC to the battery cell’s terminals.

As is mentioned in Technical Notes on each product specification sheet, connect the negative terminal of the lowest-voltage cell to the IC first, and then connect lower-side terminals to the IC in ascending order of voltage. When taking apart, disconnect terminals in descending order of voltage.

An erroneous connection order may damage the protection IC itself or cause malfunction such as starting up at abnormal detection.
Also, we are planning to develop Li-ion battery protection ICs to which you can connect input pins in any order.
